Asking About Constitutional Authority for Government Mandated Healthcare is Not a Serious Question Says Pelosi

So are we going to hold our leaders accountable for protecting and defending the Constitution or not? The arrogance of Congress both on the left and right of completely dismissing the Constitution is appalling. They act as if the founding document has no bearing on how they are to govern. When are Americans going to stand up for the liberty and freedom and insist that Legislature and Executive branches of our government use the rule of law set forth in our Constitution. Are we simply fine with tyrannical governing? I can assure you I am not.

Check out this exchange from CNSNews.com and Speaker Pelosi:

CNSNews.com: “Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?”

Pelosi: “Are you serious? Are you serious?”

CNSNews.com: “Yes, yes I am.”

Pelosi then shook her head before taking a question from another reporter. Her press spokesman, Nadeam Elshami, then told CNSNews.com that asking the speaker of the House where the Constitution authorized Congress to mandated that individual Americans buy health insurance as not a “serious question.”

“You can put this on the record,” said Elshami. “That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question.”

There should outrage at this response. And why is it that none of the main stream media heads are asking this question? They exist solely because the First Amendment exists. They should be the watchdogs of our Constitution. No, it takes true patriots outside of the those organizations in the tank for the Democrats or Republicans to ask the right questions.

Speaker Pelosi, you can deflect the question. Dismiss it even. But the American people are beginning to wake up and see you people, both Republicans and Democrats, for what you are doing. It’s all for power. We want to be governed by the rule of law. The Constitution. Not by the whims of Congress and special interests.

We hold the Constitutional adherence sacred. You seem to avoid it. There is movement to return the government to the people. Arrogance and entitlement parasites will not save you.

Want more? Patriot Post posted in their newsletter another exchange CNSNews.com had with the arrogant politicians. This time with Democrat Senator Leahy. Enjoy:

More evidence of the trauma inflicted by our elected “representatives” surfaced this week when CNSNews.com asked the only truly relevant question in the health care debate: Where in the Constitution is the authority to mandate that Americans buy health insurance?

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was befuddled and deflected:

CNSNews.com: Where, in your opinion, does the Constitution give specific authority for Congress to give an individual mandate for health insurance?

Leahy: We have plenty of authority. Are you saying there is no authority?

CNSNews.com: I’m asking-

Leahy: Why would you say there is no authority? I mean, there’s no question there’s authority, nobody questions that.

But the important point out of all of this is what PatriotPost had to say at the end:

While Leahy’s answer is both defensive and outrageously arrogant, in a sense, he’s right: Not enough voters question the constitutional authority for anything Congress does. Even Republicans too often simply declare, “Me too, only a little less,” instead of abiding by the Constitution.

People are starting to wake up to this arrogance and disregard for our rule of law. No one wants to live under tyranny. At least I hope not. So voters do need to stand up and question what the government is doing.

A lot of people died and gave up everything for future generation’s liberty and freedom. People need to stop feeling entitled and begin to reclaim their freedoms before they are gone forever.

I have been asking the same question and getting the same blank stares. The Fed regulates about as much health care as the Constitution permits in its regulation of drugs and devices. It is not evident that the Fed has the authority to regulate the examining room at the local clinic.
