Bart Gordon Announces He Will Retire From House

Good news today. The Tennessean reports that Bart Gordon is set to retire from the House of Representatives.

Rep. Bart Gordon, the dean of the Tennessee congressional delegation, announced this morning that he will retire at the end of next year.

“When I was elected, I was the youngest member of the Tennessee congressional delegation; now, I’m one of the oldest,” Gordon, D-Murfreesboro, said in a written statement. ” In fact, I have members of my staff who weren’t even born when I took office. That tells me it’s time for a new chapter.”

Gordon said he made his decision after consulting with his wife, Leslie. “Turning 60 has led me to re-evaluate what’s next. I have an 8-year-old daughter and a wonderful wife who has a very demanding job. I am the only child of my 83-year-old mother, Margaret. They have made sacrifices to allow me to do what I love by serving in Congress, and now it’s my turn,” Gordon said. Gordon is in his 13th two-year term. He is the chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, the only Tennessee House member to chair a committee.

Now I won’t have to work in 2010 to see he is not re-elected. Maybe my district can find a fiscally conservative Republican to send to D.C. Gordon has pretty much voted in lock step with Obama’s agenda. That put me at odds with this supposed “blue dog”.

Glenn Beck Has Blood Shooting From His Eyes

Glenn Beck gets into it on his radio show with a woman that argues for health care. She is quite uninformed to say the least. She is from the great liberal state of Massachusetts and clearly believes in the government takeover of your health care. It was very funny to listen to them scream and yell at each other. She definitely has never bothered listening or watching any of Beck’s programs. The clip made is way onto the Web courtesy of MediaMatters4America, a watchdog group that goes after conservative pundits like Beck. According to their channel on YouTube, the group is “dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.” Interesting that they posted it. There is nothing to correct. Beck was correct but I am not for government health care in any form either.

Glenn Beck Rants Over the Omnibus Budget

Care about the amount of money the asshats in Washington are wasting? You should. The bill will come due. Feel good about pushing it off to future generations? Then you have no morals. Think the government knows what it’s doing? Then you are a moron. They are wasting our money for their “special project” otherwise known as “earmarks”, otherwise known as “pork barrel spending”. They can call it whatever they want to but they are simply bankrupting his country. Ok, maybe not bankrupting, but do you really want billions upon billions of the money that you earned, that you went to work to accumulate, to simply be sent to China as interest payments? Cool with that?

Glenn Beck wasn’t cool with that. On his show Thursday night he went on one of his most passionate rants I’ve heard or seen. He struck a nerve. He blasted the 9,000 earmarks that are in the fiscal year Omnibus budget. From both Republicans and Democrats. Nobody was safe. Look at the You Tube comments. Whole bunch of people disrespecting the man for his opinions.

Check out the video. It show a man that is clearly passionate about what the government on both sides are doing to this country. Are you not dizzy with what these people are doing in Washington?
