Conservative Movement is Gaining Steam – MSM Calls it a GOP Civil War
AP News has a headline today stating:
Uncivil War: Conservatives to challenge a dozen GOP candidates
I sort of hope the left and the GOP continue to dismiss the Tea Party movement. They are not going to realize what hit them until it is too late in 2010 and 2012.
Activists contend that the only way back to majority status is to embrace the conservative principles that the party jettisoned during the past decades once it became too enamored of power. To them, the issue is less about ideological purity than about the compromises they see the party’s Washington establishment making and what they contend is a lack of support for conservative candidates who are deemed unelectable by GOP solons.
The GOP doesn’t get it because they were too busy trying to capture the same voters as the Democrats. Conservatives pretty much gave up and went back to their TV and football games. What is happening is a movement of an awakened bunch of folks across the country that do not want their freedoms and liberties stolen and who want limited government. The GOP stopped believing in those principles ever since Reagan left office.
The GOP has a real problem in that the conservatives do not care if the “house gets burned down”. To us it does not matter at all if the candidate that wins the seat is Democrat or Republican if they do not believe in conservative ideals. The GOP today is simply Democrat lite. I refuse to vote anymore simply because someone has a ‘R’ behind their name. Case in point: Scozzafava . Who supposedly was a Republican but dropped out and supported not the conservative but the Democrat. That is pathetic and very telling about where the GOP is these days. Conservatives aim to steer them back on course or go their own way ala Doug Hoffman.
Finally people are waking up and are pushing the GOP back on track. It bothers the mainstream media because they don’t understand why the GOP is going more conservative or what they consider radical. The problem is the media is so far left they do not understand what the fight is about. Limited government, freedom and liberty. These are ideals that the GOP forgot. We have moved so far to the left in this country and the MSM is so biased to the left they think anything that is not left of center is about those crazy right radicals. When actually we just want the government to leave us alone and get out of our way. That is hardly a scary agenda unless you are comfortable sucking off the teet of government entitlements.
