Cram Down Health Care Reform
Things probably need to change with America’s health care. It would be great if we could figure out ways to lower the cost of health care without having the government administer it. I hate that I’ve spent the last 20 years working my ass off and getting educated to work competitive and good jobs only to have health care that I receive from my jobs, like the other 90% of Americans, marginalized by the %10 that don’t have it or don’t want it. I don’t want nationalized or socialized medicine. How can that be a good thing?
I’ll be politically incorrect here. If you don’t like that you don’t have health care then how about improving your life and get a better job that provides you with good health care. I did. Millions of other people have. If I was passionate about having health care for my family, and I didn’t have it, then I’d be doing whatever it took to get it. But requiring the government to provide that for me at the expense of other people who worked hard and is working hard for theirs is immorally and pathetic. Perhaps we could set aside a program for people that have just fell into hard times and help them, for a little while, until they get back on their feet. Oh wait, we have. It’s called Medicaid.
So now we are going to have a government health care plan crammed down our throats. And explain to me that if this program was so damn great why the democrats aren’t confident enough to put the program up for debate. From the Patriot Post:
In the Senate they have decided to go forward with reconciliation on health care legislation. “Reconciliation” is a euphemism that means they will vote for the package with a simple majority vote. The Democrats are using this parliamentary trick because they don’t want their vision of socialized, government-run, taxpayer-crushing health care to be jeopardized by legitimate debate. In the old days, debate was an integral part of congressional deliberations. What the Democrats really want is to push through their dream bill as quickly as possible before the public gets a whiff of how lousy the plan truly is.
How un-American. How un-patriotic. How sleezy and pathetic. But that’s politics. Seriously, what in the hell are they afraid of if their plan is so damn great? Put it up for debate. Let the Senators pound on it. If it passes muster then so be it. But like most shit that they don’t read or pass in the dead of night Congress is continues to be up to their dirty tricks.
We have got to get another party outside of Democrats and Republicans.
