Democrats Losing Popular Support for Their Policies

Our President said that now is the time to implement PayGo. This after the bailouts, stimulus and budget that puts this country in a huge deficitĀ  and deepens the debt. It’s amazing the gall this man has in even bringing it up. Why didn’t he suggest PayGo before the government decided to spend all this money. Hey he got all the spending he wanted so now lets pull back on the spending. How incredibly disingenuous. These people think the American people are stupid or naive.

It’s interesting that the president remains popular but the popularity of his policiesĀ are beginning to unravel. Rasmussen Reports now say that the public trust the Republicans over the Democrats on economic issues.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% now trust the GOP more to handle economic issues, while 39% trust Democrats more. This is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue.

And why wouldn’t they? The Dems said that spending the stimulus money, right now, would keep jobs from being lost and even add new jobs. Yet unemployment continues to creep up to 10%. Lot’s of “told ya so’s” going around the blogosphere these days over that.

I figured the American people would come around eventually. The Dems policies can’t work. They weren’t designed to work. They were designed to increase the size of government not grow private sector jobs nor get the country out of a recession. Sure they would like for the country to be prosperous but that is not their goal. The Progressives simply want command and control over the government.

It’s actually getting quite interesting. The Dems are going to rush through some health care crap to widen the bureaucracy in the next few months. They have to get it done before 2010-12 because they have disenfranchised the American people so quickly that their reign of power may come to a satisfying end. My guess is Obama may in fact serve out 8 years but he is going to have very little to work with in the Congress. That institution is about to undergo some big changes. At least I can hope.

But Obama is a rock star. People are looking at style over substance. The man is clearly in over his head. Non-supporters tried to explain that the man had no experience for this job, but a pretty smile and a nice manner won the day. Now we have to deal with his pathetic economic policies and weak foreign policy. But if the country can somehow get rid of the 40-50% of Congress in the next two elections we can turn this mess around. The debt and deficits have to be contained, controlled and reduced. I’d like to see some people, Dems, Repubs, Indys…I don’t care…that will have the guts to reign in the federal government.

Speaking of larger government. Have you noticed how many czars Obama has created? WTH is that about? These entities are quite scary. The only person to oversee these people is the President. Congress needs to get a handle on this. The reason we have the 3 branches of government is so that each can watch over the other. Checks and balances. These czars work outside of any Constitutional granted authority. Clearly the Progressives that are running our government have no interest or respect for out Constitution. This should outrage more Americans. Hopefully it will as 2010 moves ever closer.

BO is quite full of hisself and seemingly thinks noone is watching that will care. He uses his popularity as a stick to beat his opponents into submission.

Its unlikely that much of Congress will turnover in 2010. Historically, its rare that many incumbents lose their seats. Also, by 2010 the economy will likely be in better shape and BO will take the credit
