Health Care Reform Continues to Wobble

Democrats can’t figure out how to pass health care reform because some moderates are against funding abortions. Some moderates are against adding to Medicare. And they can’t seem to entice any Republicans into the fold. AP reports:

Senate Democratic leaders struggled Monday to get President Barack Obama‘s health care overhaul on track for passage by Christmas, faced with moderates’ opposition to expanding Medicare and internal party disputes over abortion and importing cheaper prescription drugs.

The Dem leadership is desperate to figure out how to capture Joe Lieberman and Ben Nelson’s vote, among others. Looks like a mess, particularly given that Rassmussen is reporting that 56% of Americans do not support what is being proposed.

I have an idea. Why not scrap the Democrats plan and actually work on real reform. You know, the kind that helps bring down the cost, encourages competition and promises tort reform.

But no, the Democrat leadership want government expansion and control. This has been their holy grail for 60 years. Hopefully they will continue to fail at this effort so that one day we can get true reform proposed and passed. There is certainly a better way to improve health care and decrease the costs without government expansion.

“Why not scrap the Democrats plan and actually work on real reform. You know, the kind that helps bring down the cost, encourages competition and promises tort reform.” Are you dreaming? Wake up! The Democrats would lower tax rates before they would pass tort reform. At least Joe Lieberman has some spine left. See http://www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com.

Wish it were true but Joe is going to cave.
