Highway Fund is Going Broke – Let’s Spend More Money!
There is so much money being spent, borrowed, taxed and stimulated that I hardly know where to begin writing these posts. I just read that the nation’s highway fund is soon going to be broke. The Obama administration wants lawmakers to infuse the fund with $7 billion dollars so that current projects can keep going.
$7 billion dollars doesn’t seem like much since the government is raping the tax payers for trillions of dollars. We’ll spend billions of dollars to save union jobs as a political favor for a dead car company. We’ll go into bankruptcy trying to build a national health care system. Our deficit is tripled and our debt load is in the trillions. Social Security and Medicare/caid will push our unfunded liabilities into tens of trillions of dollars that we don’t have. What to do? Beg China for a loan. Destroy our currency by printing money.
I bring up the highway fund because it was the latest political expenditure that makes me want to vomit. 3 months or so ago the government said that our economy was in a crisis and that they needed to “stimulate” to keep us from a depression. About 10%, or so, has actually been spent. It was supposed to go towards shovel ready projects. Give the states the money and they were supposed to be ready to put people to work. It didn’t quite happen that way but government bureaucracy never works fast anyway.
So I wonder why the hell can the highway fund not tap the stimulus money. Where do these asshats like Barbara Boxer get off asking for MORE money? I am sick of the spending. These people are ridiculous. But more to the point the American voting class have got to wise the hell up and get these people out of office. They are destroying our country financially and wrecking the freedoms that many people before us fought damn hard to obtain.
