I Support the Patriots of Honduras – Tyranny of Mel Zelaya Crushed
It is almost becoming embarrassing to be an American. Obama apologizing across Europe and Central America for the U.S. Then he goes to the Middle East and bows before King Saud. He can barely bring himself to support the protesters in Iran. Now we are supporting a tyrant wannabe in Honduras. WTF you ask?
President Mel Zelaya tried to reshape the Honduran Constitution to his liking. He wanted to create an authoritarian state like his good buddy Hugo Chavez has created for himself in Venezuela. Well seems that the Honduran Congress and Supreme Court thought the act was unlawful. The had the military remove Zelaya. Seems that Zelaya wanted to rewrite the Honduran Constitution in his favor so he could remain in power. The president doesn’t get to make that call. That would be for the Congress to decide.
Zelaya declared the vote on his own and had Chavez send him ballets to disperse. The WSJ reports:
The Supreme Court ruled his referendum unconstitutional, and it instructed the military not to carry out the logistics of the vote as it normally would do.
The top military commander, Gen. Romeo Vásquez Velásquez, told the president that he would have to comply. Mr. Zelaya promptly fired him. The Supreme Court ordered him reinstated. Mr. Zelaya refused.
Calculating that some critical mass of Hondurans would take his side, the president decided he would run the referendum himself. So on Thursday he led a mob that broke into the military installation where the ballots from Venezuela were being stored and then had his supporters distribute them in defiance of the Supreme Court’s order.
The attorney general had already made clear that the referendum was illegal, and he further announced that he would prosecute anyone involved in carrying it out. Yesterday, Mr. Zelaya was arrested by the military and is now in exile in Costa Rica.
Many believe that Zelaya was a victim of a military coup and needs to be reinstated. Interesting that it is the “military coup” that was following the law of the constitution.
Now you wonder what the U.S. feels about this. You would assume that we would support a country that follows the rule of law as aggressively as the patriots of Honduras has. No. Obama and his administration are siding with…wait for it…Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and Daniel Ortega to have Zelaya reinstated as president. Are you effing kidding me?
Hillary Clinton accused Honduras of violating “the precepts of the Interamerican Democratic Charter” and said it “should be condemned by all.” Fidel Castro did just that. Mr. Chávez pledged to overthrow the new government.
I am proud of the patriots of Honduras. They are following their Constitution as they should have. They should remain strong. Americans could learn a lot from these brave people. I have no idea why we are siding with communists and tyrannical rulers. Well then again we are talking about Obama and the American left. The people of Honduras began protesting in the streets against Zelaya. One sign read: “We won’t go backwards. We want to live in peace, freedom and development.”
Words that you may find soon in the streets of America.

Anyone outside the US should bother to understand our laws and constitution before giving their opinion. Honduras has followed the legal procedures and our people has given total support. Zelaya broke the law on many ocasions…Why isn´t he being questioned? Why are third parties taking his side if he is required by our justice system? Isn´t he supposed to be the first person to follow our law? Would you like to live in a socialist system like Chavez´s? Honduran people should be proud of what they have done!
