Obama’s Education Speech is Outstanding

I don’t know how many of you have read the Obama education speech but it is very, very good. I’m not sure why people had a problem with the president sharing his thoughts on education. Lots of over-reaction among the right fringe as well as parents. People that attain the level of authority and prestige like Obama should be able to encourage kids in this country to excel in school and work hard. I think kids will benefit from hearing how important their education is from the president.

Sure the Department of Education was out of bounds with their talking points for the kids after the speech, but for the speech itself it is very empowering and thoughtful.

As long as the president, whether Obama or those in the future, leave politics out of the speech then we as Americans should be encouraging that the president cares enough to speak to our kids.

Education begins at home with the parents, but there is nothing wrong with having reinforcement from other adults about the importance of education. I applaud the president for delivering an excellent speech to our kids. The right jumped to the wrong conclusion about the speech WAY too quickly. There is nothing to fear here folks. Move along.
