Tomorrow The U.S. Congress Will Embarass the Nation As it Verbally Executes BP CEO

Tomorrow begins the greatest display of political theater we will have ever seen as a nation. Congressmen are set to publicly humiliate and verbally execute BP CEO Tony Hayward. Never mind that this could and should be a civil and forceful questioning to better understand what went wrong and how BP plans on fixing the problem. No, Republicans and Democrats both want to prove they are on top of the situation. One asshat from Louisiana, RINO Rep. Joseph Cao, said

“During the Samurai days, we’d just give you the knife and ask you to commit hari-kari.”

This is a United States representative. Suggesting that this man Hayward kill himself. It is vile. I have no use for BP. They should simply make right what they broke. But this kind of public flogging should be beneath the dignity and honor of the United States. But it’s not.

The abortion traitor Bart Stupak said:

“I expect him to be sliced and diced.”

That’s nice representative. I expected you to vote with honor during the health care debacle but you did not.

Congressman Dingell said:

“He’s going to have, if I’m any judge of the committee and the temperament of the members, a very unpleasant afternoon.”

It seems as if these members want to put on a show to see how badass each one can be. After watching these congressmen completely dismantle any semblance of constitution law I really have no use for what they are going to say to Hayward. I wager that nothing they say tomorrow will do anything positive for the people in living and working at the Gulf. It is simply political theater. hayward will be prepared. I doubt he will be fazed.

Hayward has said he’s got thick enough skin to handle the verbal assaults.

“I’m so far unscathed,” he told analysts in a recent conference call, referring to the general criticism he’s received. “No one has actually physically harmed me. They’ve thrown some words at me. But I’m a Brit, so sticks and stones can hurt your bones but words never break them, or whatever the expression is.”

What we are seeing is the failure of big government. All they can do is talk and set up commissions (think community organizing). They can blather on tomorrow and give BP hell. Whatever. It won’t be impressive. It won’t be dignified. It won’t plug the leak. And it won’t clean up the Gulf.

The government should be using all resources offered and available. But no, the layers of bureaucracy have turned this into a horrible mess. From forcing drilling out into 1 mile deep water to not being responsive to the cleanup. Slice and dice Hayward all you want but take a look in the mirror at your smug face tomorrow night, Congressman, to see where the real blame lies.

Tea Party 1.0 Evolves Into Tea Party 2.0 – There is No Decline

Gateway Pundit had John Burns as a guest writer discuss the current disposition of the Tea Party and where it is going. The press and liberal pundits like to say that the Tea Party is in decline. Like Mr. Burns writes, that is not true. He brings up a good point in that the Tea Party rallies were the birth of the grass roots conservative, constitutional movement. But we quickly realized that despite our numbers and protests we were not being heard. The statist, socialist agenda was going to be jammed down our collective throats whether we wanted it or not. The majority of the people in this great nation stood behind the Tea Party Patriots. Many joined us. Many stayed out of the fray yet silently supported the movement. But the people of this country do not want the statist agenda. So the Tea Party is adapting as Mr. Burns describes below. And understand, he is only 26 year old. There is a future for this country.

There’s been much ado recently about the decline of the Tea Party Movement. Pundits opine that we’re losing momentum, losing support, losing steam; “they just peaked too soon.”

Not True. Not by a long shot.

Years from now, historians will look back at the Tea Party Movement and divide it into two primary eras. Tea Party 1.0 was about the birth of the first massive, spontaneous grassroots movement in a generation. It was about rallying the troops and waking up America to realize that the inmates are running the asylum; that the first Manchurian Candidate became the first Manchurian President; that government programs and government spending were poised to destroy our children’s future. Tea Party 1.0 was the start of what I believe will prove to be the 4th Great Awakening in America. Tragically, we learned that rallies alone could not stop the powerful river of socialism from surging through our nation and our communities.

We recognized that a new focus was needed. Whereas before we would protest and rally, now we will activate, organize, and build.

This is not the beginning of the end for the Tea Party Movement, but merely the End of the Beginning.

Tea Party 2.0, is characterized by the swift march of Tea Party Patriots into political activism on a permanent basis. Tea Party 2.0 is an unstoppable freight train. Patriots will be just as active on November 3rd as they were on November 2nd. Because, win or lose, we’re fighting to WIN…permanently. Sure, this will take a number of years. But the election of Barack Obama and the hegemony of socialists in our government were not suddenly achieved overnight. After the protests and turmoil of the ‘60s, liberals marched into institutions of higher learning and bureaucracy, and they are now running them. Today, we are living in the world they built. Tomorrow, they shall live in ours.

In St. Louis we’ve just started organizing Block Captain Teams, which are similar to precinct captains, except that the teams don’t rely on a party for their strength, energy, or legitimacy. The teams are decentralized and don’t rely on a pecking order. Anyone can be a leader. And whereas precinct captains are only active during the campaign season, Block Captain Teams are in the field year-round. Anyone can become a Block Captain overnight, and anyone can start a Block Captain Team and start making a difference immediately. The Teams have many projects, including voter registration, Liberty Evangelism, activist trainings, candidate trainings, petition drive projects, volunteering with various candidate campaigns, and on and on.

BUT THIS IS THE KEY: Whereas in the past we were content to win a given election (a mere battle), now we’re focused on winning the war. The war doesn’t end on November 2nd, and neither will our volunteerism. Win or lose November 2nd, we’re still fighting come November 3rd, December 3rd…until we restore the US Constitution, kick every socialist out of office across the nation, and restore the culture of liberty that our nation was founded upon.

The mistake of the ’94 revolution was thinking that after we had taken the “beaches” of Congress we had won the war. But Eisenhower didn’t stop at Normandy, nor shall we at Scott Brown, Chris Christy, or Rand Paul.

We’ve recognized that no one is coming to save us. Many would-be leaders are overly concerned about preserving small fiefdoms of power or rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. So, we must rise up and save ourselves. We didn’t ask for this war, and we didn’t start it. We will, however, finish it. And that may mean time sacrifices and fewer vacations and hard work. But the salvation of our nation and the restoration of US Constitutional government (unabridged and without disclaimers) is worth the sacrifice. There are millions of noble servicemen and women who understand this all too well. Patriotism demands service and this is our duty: to fight until we win.

So, maybe the pundits are right. So far as it constitutes the first incarnation of this massive social movement, maybe the Tea Party is in decline or dying. Maybe the Tea Party 1.0 is over. But the social movement, the 4th Great Awakening has not and will not die. Tea Party 2.0 and the era of the Block Captain, has begun.

Obama Pitches Cap and Trade While the Oil Continues to Leak in the Gulf

President Obama talked for about 18 minutes in his Oval Office address and spent about 15 minutes pitching his Cap and Trade scheme (OK not really, but damn near). The man is not a leader. The man campaigns. He has spent the whole crisis trying to figure out who to sue and who to tax…while the Gulf Coast becomes a toxic waste dump. Why the government hasn’t coordinated a better cleanup and response is beyond me. Why the hell are we not suspending the Jones Act? Oh right, because the administration has to protect the damn unions. To hell with the unions. How about using every possible means to clean up this spill. Bring in ships from Saudi to Norway. Whatever it takes. Do it now. This oil leak uncovers yet another disaster: big government bureaucracy.

Never Let That Crisis Go To Waste – Oil Rigs Leaving Gulf, Along with Jobs

It’s been overstated ad nauseum ever since Obama took over the imperial federal government. Never let a crisis go away. Gateway Pundit reports that Brazil is not letting the Obama moratorium of drilling in the Gulf go to waste. Rigs, and jobs, are heading off the coast of South America:

Brazil could benefit from the BP Gulf of Mexico spill as a U.S. moratorium on offshore drilling boosts available rigs for the country’s deep water oil exploration program.

Even as an ecological catastrophe makes the future of U.S. offshore drilling less certain, Brazil is plowing ahead with a $220 billion five-year plan to tap oil fields even deeper than BP’s (BP.L) ill-fated Gulf well, which is still leaking crude.

With an estimated 35 rigs idled in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil is already receiving inquiries from companies looking to move their rigs here, where vast discoveries in recent years may soon turn the country into a major crude exporter.

“What is bad for some may be good for others,” said Fernando Martins, Latin America Vice President for GE Oil and Gas, which provides services to drillers in Brazil.

“Since operators are shutting down at least temporarily in the U.S. Gulf, some companies are planning to move their rigs to Brazil now,” he said, without offering details.

Obama also wants to eliminate tax breaks that oil companies receive and use that money on cleaner energy alternatives. Yea, that’s great and all but the oil companies do not pay the tax. The folks like you and me who drive our vehicles pay that cost. And gasoline is not the only thing that is refined from oil. Other products will necessarily go up in price too. All of these costs destined to be passed on to the consumer.

Liberal thought is so stupid.

Is It Really Shocking That Retails Sales Are Falling?

Is this really shocking? CNBC is reporting that consumers are not spending money:

Sales at U.S. retailers unexpectedly fell in May for the first time since September following a record slump in purchases of building materials, adding to fears the economic recovery was losing some steam.

The Commerce Department said total retail sales dropped 1.2 percent, the largest decline since September, after rising by an upwardly revised 0.6 percent in April. Sales in April were previously reported to have increased 0.4 percent.

Well no kidding. People aren’t employed. People are scared of tax increases and government spending. Folks are tightening down their budgets unlike the government who continues to spend and wants to raise taxes. The cost of gasoline remains high. Local utilities and governments are raising fees and taxes. And the consumer is not getting a raise. What the hell else are people to do?

The government and media outlets like CNBC want you to believe everything is alright in the economy. Perma-bulls. But the people know what is going on. The government policies are not giving anyone a reason to spend.

Giuliani on Obama – Opposite of Leadership – Handling of Oil Leak is Dismal

Obama’s perceived handling of the Gulf oil leak has been pathetic. I know the man does not know how to fix a blown out well. I know he can’t personally stop the leak. I know he didn’t cause the leak. But this is a crisis of leadership. We are seeing a man who does not know how to lead. We knew this going in that he did not have executive leadership or experience governing. We knew it would be to the detriment of the country and now others are seeing this too. Look, you just know leadership when you see it. We are not seeing it with the statists in charge. Community organizing did not prepare him these people disasters. They just know how to talk. Gateway Pundit reports:

“Where has the President been for 54, 55 days?… I know he made 3 visits there but he has spent more time on vacation than he has in New Orleans and Louisiana… I wrote a book on leadership, and I would say that if I wrote another one I would use this as an illustration of the opposite of leadership. This thing happened over 50 days ago. The President goes on vacation twice. ”

Rudy Giuliani
Former Mayor of New York
On President Obama’s Handling of Gulf Oil Spill Crisis

That about says it all.

It’s amazing how this administration did not learn the lessons of Katrina. Bush screwed around with that horrible situation. Of course my defense of Bush is that it didn’t take him over 50 days to get himself involved and he had an inept governor and incompetent mayor to work with. Hell, at least Obama has strong governors like Jindel, Barbour and Riley to work with.

I wonder how involved Obama would be if this had happened of the coast of California? Somehow I believe his interest would have been vastly different. Then again his leadership skills are amateurish. It might not have gone any better for him out there.

Nancy Pelosi Should Have Heeded Her Own Advice She Gave BP

Nancy Pelosi is a hypocrite. Shocking revelation, I know. From CBSNews headline:

PR advice for BP from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi: don’t pay out any dividends to investors until you’ve compensated those who have suffered losses from the oil spill.

This is rich advice from a woman who help ram numerous spending bills through the House without having any clue how to pay for them. Perhaps she should have heeded her own advice and not enabled any spending until she could pay for it. Generations of Americans are going to be suffering for her inept and arrogant leadership.

Will Florida Have Any Honor in November or Will They Vote for Charlie Crist?

A poll today show that Gov. Charlie Crist leads in the race for senator in Florida. Foxnews reports:

With five months until election day, Independent senate candidate, Gov. Charlie Crist, edges Republican Marco Rubio in the race for the U.S. Senate seat, 37% to 33 %, with Democrat, U.S. Rep.Kendrick Meek, receiving 17%, in a newly-released Quinnipiac University poll.

I will be astounded at the stupidity of Florida voters if they put Crist in the U.S. Senate. The man stands for nothing. He is a self serving piece of shit. If he put country first he would have graciously stepped aside and supported Marco Rubio in his bid for the U.S. Senate. But it isn’t about what is good for Florida and the country, it is about what is good for Crist. The polls indicate the independents and some republicans aren’t getting that.

I would have more respect for Florida voters if they voted for the Democrat. At least we know where that statist stands. But where does Crist stand? Apparently anywhere that serves his needs. There is still a long time until November and I have little doubt that Rubio can and will prevail. But the early polling data is really pathetic.

Goodbye Helen – Good Riddance

Helen Thomas has turned in her resignation to Hearst Newspapers. Her big  opinionated mouth got her in trouble when she suggested that the Jews do not belong in Israel and should get out. Where to,  she was asked. She said back to Germany, Poland and the United States.

The comment even disturbed the White House. The White House propaganda minister, Robert Gbbs, even said, “Those remarks are offensive and reprehensible.” As well as, “Those remarks certainly don’t reflect the opinion of folks here or the administration.”

Thomas is an unapologetic liberal. It’s damn good to see her go.

I will say that she had every right to say what she wanted to. She’s not a reporter BTW. She’s a columnist. She writes her opinions. Why she was allowed to sit on the front row at White Press briefings is beyond me. I don’t care about her opinions on Israel. But isn’t it great we live in a country that can express them? Of course, maybe the PC crowd on the left could only take so much of her opinion on the matter and had to let her go. Maybe she is seen as too close to the White House to allow those statements to go unchecked. I dunno. I’m just glad she’s finally done.

Obama is No Leader – Gulf Oil Leak is Truly an Ecological, Environmental and Economic Disaster

My mom and dad used to take me and my siblings to Destin Florida each summer. It was a week that I always looked forward to and times I have remembered all my life. As I got older I returned to the Panhandle  to enjoy the beautiful beaches, seafood and sun. I cannot believe my eyes at what I see happening from the oil leak. The people are losing their livelihoods. Tourism will dwindle to nothing. The photos of the animals stuck in the oily goo is heartbreaking. Even worse is those that have died. It is an ecological and environmental disaster and is going to be an economic disaster. I hold BP responsible for the industrial accident. And honestly, despite their vast riches, I do not see how they make it out of this situation. I can appreciate how difficult it is to contain a leak a mile down in the Gulf. It shows just how limited our technology is when something like this beyond our resources to fully contain. You can bet that if deep water drilling is ever allowed again in the Gulf that simultaneous relief wells will be drilled, at huge expenses. With the huge insurance costs and regulations I just do not see how deep water drilling will return. That can be unfortunate as the amount of oil we will import will necessarily increase from our enemies. The number of jobs lost will number in the tens of thousands. And eventually we will be seeing it at the pump as the price of gasoline will creep back toward $4-5 a gallon. Oh happy days.

At this point I have turned my anger toward our inept presidential administration. I cannot believe the incompetence of leadership that is on display. Explain why Obama has not initiated some sort of national emergency and activated Guard units to at least be on the scene. At least rescue animals. How can they not be skimming the shit out of the Gulf and collecting oil. There should be a D-Day size flotilla of vessiles out there surroundin ghte leak and skimming the oil 24/7. Maybe there is but I doubt it.

17 countries from around the world have offered help and BP and/or the Administration turned down all but the booms from Norway and Mexico. Hell, bring the whole world in to help. Have every person East of the Mississippi River go down with their boat and use tampons to skim up what they can. Just do something. The government needs to have somebody, a lot of somebodies do something. James Carville was right. They ARE dying down there.

People on the TV are bloviating over Obama’s lack of ability to emote. We don’t need a Crier in Chief. What we need is a Commander in Chief. Someone like Jindal who on the ground taking charge and trying to make things happen every day while Obama plays golf and listens to shitty Beatles music. The problem that I have had from day one is the guy has never had a single day of executive decision making experience. The voters wanted someone that could make great speeches and apparently little else. Well, good for us, because now we have incompetence supposedly running the show.

I am a limited government guy. But what I do want the feds to do is protect the borders. Protect the country. That is what they should be doing. If that means growing the government as in a time of war to defend the country then so be it. This  is a war. We are being invaded by an environmental and ecological disaster, soon to an economic one. Why the hell can our socialist leaders not see this? They were damn sure laser focused on ramming through some shitty health care bill. Gosh maybe all that stimulus money the statists insisted on having could have been used on something like this national emergency rather than all their stupid pet projects like turtle tunnels.

BP has a lot to pay for and make right. They may not be a company when this is settled. As they start getting having to sell off pieces of itself to pay for the litigation and cleanup they may well become China Petroleum before it’s done. Our government may in fact bleed them dry. So be it. But history is going to show that it was Obama, despite the media trying to give him cover, who didn’t have a clue in dealing with this. Running around threatening to sue on behalf of everybody is not leadership. This is a crisis of leadership. Remember after 9/11 and Bush went down to the rubble and basically said “I got this”. Obama can barely make himself go to the beach and read from a teleprompter. It hardly gives me confidence that he “has this”.
