Polls Show Obama Approval Still Up – Indicates Americans Willing to Give Up Freedoms
Media outlets love polls. Politicians love them as well. They help shore up agendas. Polling data has become a science and it seems to me much depends on who you ask, when you ask and where you ask. For instance, if I was bent to the left and wanted to know if Obama was doing a good job I would call up or ask a bunch of people getting government aid how President Obama was doing.
The poll numbers from the Washington Post/ABC News today indicate from a sampling of 1,000 adults that two-thirds really dig the job that Obama is doing.
U.S. President Barack Obama benefits from a broadly held perception that others bear the bulk of responsibility for state of the U.S. economy, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll published on Tuesday.
Two-thirds of respondents approve of the way Obama is handling the presidency, and 60 percent approve of the way he is handling the economy.
How, where and to whom was that vote taken? Was it random phone calls or man on the street interviews? Who did they target to ask the question?
I don’t think he is doing a very good job of anything, but that is my bully-pit. I actually got sucked in for a few weeks that he would govern from the center. He is not. My bad.
I can’t understand why people think he is doing a great job. Must be the same people who have never read or tried to understand the Constitution. Or have no clue what trillions of dollars of debt mean.
At some point this economy will be his. Maybe it will be the greatest economic comeback in the history of man. Maybe his administration can do what the Japanese have failed at for almost 20 years. Maybe a 20 trillion dollar debt within the next 10 years will be just fine. Maybe taxes soaking the rich will defy all odds and create jobs and prosperity for everyone. Maybe cap and trade won’t increase your electric bill by hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars a year. Maybe health care will improve with government takeover. Maybe you’ll enjoy driving the vehicles that the government mandate you drive.
It seems more and more likely that the majority of Americans are fine with giving up their freedom. There will be tea parties across the country on April 15th of thousands of people letting their voices be heard that they are not happy with the government. Republican or Democrat. They all suck. But the problem is there are many, many more in this country who are simply willing to hand over their freedoms to the federal government. They are afraid of personal responsibility. They are afraid to be free. It’s sad.
The polls show that the majority of Americans don’t care. If you agree that Obama is doing a good job and is handling the economy well then you simply do not stand for freedom or personal responsibility.

Where in the Constitution does it give the Prez the power to hire and fire private sector corporations’ CEOs? Or threaten to put a private sector corporation into involuntary “controlled” [by one guess who] bankruptcy? If I was the CEO of a Fortune 1000 corp., I’d be screaming bloody murder at my “elected officials”. Do Nobama’s actions constitute “high crimes and misdemeanors”? Let’s talk impeachment NOW before he succeeds in turning this country into the United States Socialist Republic (that’s “USSR”, history fans…)
