Spending Money That Does Not Belong to Us
The debate over the amount of the huge spending proposed in Washington goes on. The weekend talk shows were full of Republicans standing against the packages and of course the Democrats were saying that it is necessary and needed for the financial gloom and misery we find ourselves in. Personally what Mike Huckabee said earlier in the week on Hannity rings most true to me:
“My parents and this generation, really believed that they should make sacrifices so their kids would have a better life. They sacrificed themselves for their kids. We’re sacrificing our kids for ourselves. We’re trying to avoid the pain of horrible decisions , major mistakes, and putting it on our kids and hope they can live with it.”
They noted that Sen. John McCain refers to this as generational theft. I believe it is immoral. I believe it is selfish. I continue to believe it is wrong and find the government over-reaching for political power and gain.
