Political Lipskip

Government is the Problem. Not the Solution.

The Government is Out of Control

I am sick of our government. Just tired of it. It is exhausting to read and watch the news anymore. It’s all Washington 24/7. Everyday is something new they are trying to jam down out throats. The people out here in the real world are simply tired of it all. Overwhelmed even. And I guess that is the plan. To simply roll over the people and pass the agenda before anybody has a chance to catch their breath.

Nobody is reading bills. They are spending money without any regard to future obligations. Sure President Obama will give some lip service about worrying over the debt and deficit but not until he adds 3 times as much to it.

And I don’t understand this healthcare reform that is coming. I get that it is important to reign in these costs. But why are they trying to appease, to force everyone into mediocrity, to provide for the few. I certainly want everyone to have access to healthcare but not with single payer. Why do Americans think it would even be remotely a good idea to have as columnist Carol Platt Liebau says:

A government bureaucracy controlling your medical care…combine[ing] the efficiency of the post office with the compassion of the IRS. Imagine a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles — but to secure lifesaving treatment for yourself, a spouse or child, rather than simply to obtain a driver’s license. What a nightmare.”

And more interesting observations from columnist Terence Jeffrey:

“If Obama candidly said he is trying to put America on the path to government-run health care, it would excite exactly the sort of massive national grassroots opposition needed to kill his plan. So what Obama is doing is paving a one-way street to a socialized medicine while expressly denying he is doing so — and while accusing those who point out what he is doing of being untruthful.”

Interesting how Obama is slowly being branded a liar in the right leaning media. They didn’t want to go there in the first few months but now they are calling it like they see it. From columnist Victor Davis Hanson:

“The problem in the next four years will be not just that the president of the United States serially does not tell the truth. Instead, the real crisis in our brave new relativist world will be that those who demonstrate that he is untruthful will themselves be accused of lying.”

Everyday it’s a new regulation being proposed. A new plan. More spending. Or a new czar, which by the way, completely circumvents the Constitution and the built in checks and balances that it provides for. This is simply wrong, wrong, wrong.

If Americans continue to remain passive during this onslaught of government intervention, then frankly the freedoms we have enjoyed will be taken away. We have become lulled into complacency. In any other country, radical changes that are being proposed in our country, would have prompted people to take to the streets. Look at what is going on in Iran. Millions of people want a fair election. They want change. And our weak President does not have a clue how to handle it. I guess he figured a pretty smile, a nice substance-free speech and apologizing for America was supposed to make everything better. This President of ours is so arrogant to think that his cool personality was going to solve everything. Community organizing will not work in countries that do hold dear political correctness.

I realize why everything is rushing through as fast as it is. For one they are using the so-called crisis to get everything they have ever desired. More government spending and control. They do not care about the Constitution. Second Obama is still popular. His policies are now waning in among the people, but he still has a lot of power. People still have hope. The liberals will blindly follow him anywhere but the rest of the nation is still hopeful. But it fades everyday. Hence the rush job. And of course next year is elections. The Dems gambled that the public would sit back and not give a shit over them spending our country into oblivion and implementing policies and programs dubious to the Constitution. They have a huge majority right now. In two years they may not have that majority. So they have to hurry.

I simply wish they would slow down and concentrate on one thing. Fix the economy. Whatever that looks like. Just fix it. Get people working. Reduce the deficit. Reduce out debt. These people in Washington are not smart enough to handle more than one thing at a time. They may think they can handle it but they can’t.

So basically your leaders do not have the country’s interest in mind. They are more concerned about party. Interest groups. Paybacks. The Repubs haven’t been any better through the years.

I sense the people in this country are finally beginning to stir. Questions are being asked. Party lines do not mean shit anymore to a growing majority. The Repubs lost their principles long ago. We are getting what voted for with the Dems. The liberals of that party have no interest in our Constitution.

I am hopeful that at some point people will decide that they prefer personal responsibility to government control. The government that we have elected into office does not represent the American people. I have no idea why we have allowed the government to wield so much power over our lives. It pisses me off that these know-nothings think they know better than me how to live my life.

I’ve never been politically interested. I’d go vote but really wouldn’t think much about things. I was like the rest of Americans I suspect. Busy simply living and hoping that the government wouldn’t screw things up too bad. I sense something is simply wrong. A lot of people are starting to wake up and take notice. They aren’t liking what they see. And they aren’t choosing sides between left and right. All they know is that both sides suck.

I’ve never been to a political rally until the NAshville Tea Party. I suspect I will support many other rallies as long as they don’t support party lines. I support America. I want less government and a strict adherence to the Constitution. Nothing more or less. I don’t care what kind of label you put on it. I think many people feel the same way. Like Janet Contreras said in her now famous letter, the people are coming.

The media makes it sound like the republics are behind the crazy tea party’s, but what they don’t understand or refuse to admit is that everyone is mad not just republicans but democrats. I believe both parties have failed, and continue to fail. We are ever more closer to becoming fascist country.

And what really pisses me off is voting on bills you haven’t even read, read the damn thing, do you damn job. If the bill is to long to read than make it shorter. Why are we spend more now, Why can nacy polocie accuse the CIA of lieing to congress and it is just droped……..

the blue dogs in washington need to be very careful on what they are voting to pass. Our eyes are on you. Vote no on health care reform or when it comes time to vote for you it just might be no!
