The Movement for Real Change Began on April 15
Ignore it all you want Washington, and State capitals across the nation. But there is a movement underfoot that has the potential to create real change in this country that stands for values and principles. Unless apathy settles in, the American people have a real chance at creating a party that can stand up to the big government, big taxing, free spending duopoly we know as the Republicans and the Democrats. The Tea Parties across the nation served notice that we know neither side understands fiscal responsibility. For as much as the Barney Franks, Nancy Pelosis, Harry Reeds and Barrack Obamas suck, we can point to an equal amount of suckage, and sadly, hypocrisy, from the the right. We want all of you removed from office. I hope the movement bears fruit in 2010 and 2012 for that to happen.
The Democrats and liberals have made their bed and are lying comfortable in it. We know what they stand for. They do not share the principles and values that many Americans that showed up on Tax Day protesting have.
Conversely the Republicans are dazed and confused. They thought they had the will of the people at the Tea Parties. They even thought they would gain more support. Alas, it was not to be. In places like Utah where 2,000 showed up to protest repeatedly booed GOP Sens. Orrin Hatch and Bob Bennett, who both supported the $700 billion TARP bailout, and protested GOP Gov. Jon Huntsman’s decision to accept $1.6 billion in stimulus cash. In places like The Alamo where the crowd jeered the Republicans and Democrats with equal fervor. The Republicans clearly have work to do if they hope to gain favor with the disenfranchised.
Either party can capture the movement if they want to step up. All it takes is strict adherence to the Constitution and an end to wasteful spending. But the taxing and spending and the power and control is too ingrained with all current politicians in D.C. With very few exceptions it is time they are removed. It is time for Americans to get a clue and study its history. Read the Constitution. Understand your rights. Stop wallowing in the slop that the government provides. We are becoming slaves to our government. We say thanks when Obama sees fit to give us the table scraps of the money back that we send to Washington.
See, liberals droned on and on all day Wednesday about how these Tea Parties were not genuine. That taxes haven’t gone up in years. That a tax cut was signed by Obama just weeks before. The problem is, even at these levels, taxes are too high. The tax code is too confusing. Our taxes are as high as they are because of government spending. For god’s sake, our debt is crawling over 11 trillion dollars.
Both sides continue to disenfranchise their base. The Republicans better step up their game and stop trying to be liberals. They are the party closer to capturing the movement you saw on Wednesday. They have a lot of work to do to regain the trust of these people. The Democrats are being controlled by the fringe radical liberals. I can only hope that support from the conservative Democrats for the Pelosi/Reed/Obama troika continues to erode. Smart Democrats looked at the protests and made a mental note that perhaps things are going too far, too fast.
Glenn Beck had a good analysis of the approval numbers for politicians.
When you look at (Obama’s) the approval rating of 55%, everybody can say, “Oh, my gosh, Barack Obama is doing really well.” When you look at the GOP, you see that his number with the GOP is 71% disapprove. But only 25% approval. 25% approval. There is still more to lose with the GOP. When you look at the Democrats, 89% approve. 12% disapprove. It is my thesis that 12%, you can’t get much higher…So you are hard pressed to find any more Democratic support for Barack Obama than he has right now. So he has every place to go but down with the Democrats and the GOP.
Interesting enough, I guess. But the most telling of his research is those who consider themselves Independents.
A few years ago there were only 11% of the country that said, yeah, I’m just independent. That number is now 25% that I am now just independent.
Of those Independents the disapproval is 53%. Anectotal evidence such as this indicate that a new movement is coming. The two party elitists can choose to ignore it, like the media did for the Tea Parties, but it’s out there.
I think support is waning for both parties. The media is losing control too. They are so desperate it is both funny and pathetic. The ratings of MSNBC, Headline News and CNN combined can’t beat Glen Beck on a nightly basis, much less Bill O’Reilly. Many of the elite newspapers are on the verge of bankruptcy. They will soon have to ply their trade online which is not where they want to go. With readers having so many online choices, their control will continue to decline.

Garofalo’s comments. I’m sure all our blood was boiling when the so called actress from the FOX show 24 made her comments with Keith Olbermann. In her opinion everyone that attended the tea parties are “tea bagging rednecks, white supremacists…idiots,” and worse. This is a perfect opportunity to show we are united and Tea Party day was not just a flash in the pan. We do have power, ultimately in the voting booth, but until then our consumer dollars speak louder than words. MSNBC itself doesn’t care, but the sponsors of Olbermann and 24 do. If they are inundated with letters and emails voicing our displeasure and threatening to boycott their products they will take notice. In the 1980s the TV show “married with Children” was almost taken off the air because one housewife wrote to sponsors. Imagine what will happen if hundreds of thousands write! I encourage everyone to write the SPONSORS of 24 and advertisers on MSNBC. Show them we will not be insulted by people they sponsor. Be direct, forceful but respectful and by no means insinuate in anyway anything violent. Hit them in the pocketbooks and they will listen!
