deb, I hear what you're saying but as an American he is our president. Though as a public servant that is bound to uphold our constitutional rights, his arrogance to suggest the American people shut up is revolting. I think for many Americans we now have a president that is not what we had hoped for. Elections have consequences. This past election is going to result in 4 years of constant fight to keep the Progressive majority from drastically changing the country. They may as well get used to it and realize we who care about liberty, freedom and the Constitution will not be shut up.

How does shouting down to stop the conversation of the healthcare debate at town hall meetings, endears them to anyone. Especially when the organizations that are telling them where to go and what to do and say are Republicans political operatives, not real grassroots. How does shouting someone down or chasing them out like a “lynch mob” advanced the debate, it does not. So I think the American people will see through all of this and know, like the teabagger, the birthers, these lynch mobs types AKA “screamers” are just the same, people who have to resort to these tactics because they have no leadership to articulate what they real want. It’s easy to pickup a bus load of people who hate, and that’s all I been seeing, they hate and can’t debate. Too bad.

Yea the birthers are wrong. The issue is dead. Lots of things you bring up are dead but keep getting rehashed because it helps to take your eye off the BS that is getting passed in Congress these days.

Lots more people in the country that believe in fiscal conservatism, Constituitional adherence and liberty. Dems, Repubs, Libertarians and Indepenents. The right has its fringe much like the left. Each side is trying to take over the country and remake it in their idology. The American people balked at the right in'06 and '08 and now the don't like what they see with the Progressive socialist movement.

There are a lot of very good ideas being suggested but the left won't listen because the only thing that they will consider is government control. How about empowering the people to make the decisions? How about tort reform? How the government overseeing insurance abuses? Nah, that would negate the power they are trying to take.

I'm not an idiot Jiggs. You can stuff your insults. Mobs are defined by lawlessness. The people voicing their opinion are exercising their right to do so. Sorry the people that want free health care paid for by the producers do not like it.

We first heard from the birthers, with their fake “birth certificate” in hand and with their fake outrage. These are the same under tones that you saw from Republicans during the confirmation hearings for Sonia Sotomayor, "you are not like us" or "you are too different", “you are not main stream”. And then they act surprised when people do not vote with them, they are lost, no core beliefs, too bad.

In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme religious right (people who love to push their beliefs on others while at the same time trying to take away their rights) and that’s who they need to focus on if they real want to win. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”.

It’s funny we hear Republicans say that they do not want “faceless bureaucrats” making medical decisions but they have no problem with “private sector” “faceless bureaucrats” daily declining medical coverage and financially ruining good hard working people. And who says that the “private sector” is always right, do we forget failures like Long-Term Capital, WorldCom, Global Crossing, Enron, Tyco, AIG and Lehman Brothers. Of course the federal government will destroy heathcare by getting involved, Oh but wait our military men and women and the Senate and Congress get the best heathcare in the world, and oh, that’s right, its run by our federal government. I can understand why some may think that the federal government will fail, if you look at the past eight years as a current history, with failures like the financial meltdown, Katrina, and the Walter Reed Scandal but the facts is they can and if we support them they will succeed.

And what's wrong with being called a 'mob?'

Get a life, whiner. The reason they are being called a "mob" is because they are fulfilling YOUR definition of a mob.

You said: "You shouldn’t be shouting down your elected official either."

What do you think is going on here? Nobody is complaining about tough questions from constituents worried about their health care. But when you have mobs - yes, mobs - surrounding Congressmen on their way to their cars (Doggett (TX)), people hanging Congressmen in effigy (Kratovil (MD)), phoned in death threats ( Miller (NC)), and generalized screaming at Congressmen so neither questions nor answers can be heard (several places), then it is perfectly appropriate for Obama and the Democrats to call them out.
