Thought the Stimulus Bill Was Supposed to Create Jobs Congressman Gordon?

Hey Tennessee Congressman Bart Gordon. You voted for the pork pie otherwise known as the Stimulus Plan. We exchanged emails and you indicated how important it was that you support the obscene spending of money to save jobs, help the economy, blah, blah, blah. Well come to find out it hasn’t done much to help at least one county you represent, and that I happen to live in. Seems unemployment is still going up in a couple of our larger towns. Though Rutherford County saw a HUGE, simply huge, decrease in unemployment of 0.1 percent.

The Daily News Journal reports:

Rutherford County’s unemployment rate in August came down to 10.1 percent from the previous 10.2 percent in July, the state reported today.

The latest rate is still much higher than the 5.9 rate from August 2008, according to a news release from the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development.

Murfreesboro’s unemployment rate also improved slightly, going from 10.4 percent in July to 10.3 percent in August.

Smyrna’s unemployment rate, though, climbed, going from 10.9 percent in July to 11.1 percent in August.

La Vergne’s unemployment rate also went up to 10.9 percent in August from the July rate of 10.8 percent.

Wow. All that spending really has done wonders. Something to really run your campaign on next November huh?
